This project provides the opportunity for out of school hours learning. The main objectives are to provide academic and pastoral assistance to Bangladeshi and Asian children in different schools. Through this project BCD provide access to study centres where students can be given support with their studies particularly with core curriculum subjects, SAT s and G.C.S.E exams. The work of this project continues to build important links with parents, teachers and the University of the First Age (UFA). The BCDSS project also runs 'parenting' classes providing tutelage for parents on how they can assist in their child's education. This project is actively supported by the LEA, Head-teachers, Nansen Primary School, Highfield Primary School, Prince Albert Primary School and local businesses.
'It was truly inspirational to see the work you are doing with the
children and young people and to hear from the youngsters themselves about
how much they value the classes and additional support provided' 'I believe the work you and your colleagues have undertaken is
extremely valuable. I would like to give you every support.' 'The school has been of great benefit and I look forward to this
continued support in the future'. 'I am very interested in a supplementary school opening at Bordesley
Green Girl's School and would like to invite you to contact me about
this.' If you know of a family or child that would benefit from the support BCD can provide to enable a child to achieve his/her full academic potential and succeed in their chosen career, please contact us at information@bcd.org.uk |
