The BCD Sports Development Project is a Sport England facilitated project. Funded Through the Active communities Development Fund for Sport, a sport England initiative. This project has enabled a large number of people from within the BCD community to become & remain involved in sport. Building on some excellent voluntary work undertaken by members of BCD this project is focusing on a lot of things.
This project is focusing on the following areas:
- Increasing participation in sport and physical activity.
- Increasing numbers of sports coaches and officials within the Bangladeshi Community.

Football
Football is the most popular game in the world. It is played by millions of people all over the world. There is a great demand for playing football within the Asian Community too. Being the world's most popular game it is being played everywhere from the streets to the professional pitches, and people of Bangladeshi origin are not being left behind.
It has been long recognised that an Asian player will inevitably burst into the national limelight and break into a Premier League first team. Read More..
Cricket
The Open Day, held at Stumps Indoor Cricket Centre saw the launch of the Bengal Tigers Cricket Club (B.T.C.C.) by Bangladesh Community Development (BCD).
The Open Day was organised to celebrate an exclusive sponsorship deal with the Royal Navy, to encourage more Bangladeshi youngsters to play cricket. The initiative was also supported by Veetee, Natwest and local businesses. Read More..
